Nothing beats being in Oyo La Spada Boutique. The food was EXCELLENT and the bed was nice. Owner was friendly. Frankie & Benny's, where you can eat, is walking distance to the hotel.
-
We were there for 1 night but felt we would return there. The staff were loyal, the bed was comfy and the food was very good! Many thanks to manager! The place is 4 km away from Durham downtown.
-
Favourable location and very clean room and the bed was comfortable. Restaurant is magnificent.
That sometimes the street was noisy.
-
We liked the food, the selection of real ales, and the friendliness of the staff.
We were without a shower from the first morning after it broke. The beds were not made, the covers simply being thrown over the wrinkled sheets, and the bathroom was not cleaned during our stay. The carpets could have done with a vacuuming. Although the furniture was relatively new and unmarked the room decor was tired and dusty.
-
the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms were comfortable
-
Reasonably well located for Durham, breakfast good, friendly and unpretentious, old-style pub atmosphere (no loud music or obnoxious patrons -- big tick in my book).
Could not get television in my room did not work, but this did not overly worry me.
-
The rooms were tired. Restaurant meat was excellent but there were no vegetables/choice of potatoes offered. Bar drinks over priced.

Stopped at this hotel whilst on business.Great staff very friendly!Room was comfortable and clean exactly what was needed! The bar and food was great and would definitely recommend especially for the price!
Bar could be opened earlier but im being picky!
-
Staff friendly, food good and location for our needs perfect, very handy for a local park and ride into the city
-
reasonable rates, family room good size, easy car access to Durham, and the breakfast was good.
main road location, quiet in evening, but road noise quite early in morning.
-
The pub was OK for a pint and a game of pool and darts.
-
Very helpful owner who helped my recover property I left at the hotel, decent breakfast, nice enough simple room.
-
the hoyel was a little dated but clean, the staff were good as was the breakfast. it was just over 2 miles from durham city centre which was good for our party as we enjoyed the walk and the number of pubs on route
-
Lively bar, very friendly locals , guests and staff. Excellent breakfast.Good choice of evening meals, well cooked. Very handy location with buses into Durham, Newcastle and surrounding areas available from virtually outside the door so no need to use the car. Really enjoyed the fact that the Lambton Hounds Inn is a good traditional old fashioned place, full of history and a great atmosphere. My husband enjoyed the choice of cask ales, which was one of the reasons we chose to stay there!!
Although the rooms were clean they were in need of some updating. You can only check into your room when the pub opens at 4pm Monday to Friday which may put some people off. They are open at lunchtimes at the weekend so I assume you can check in earlier .
